Wray Ward has promoted Lucas Weber to director of digital platforms. In this newly created position, Weber will oversee the agency’s digital designers and developers in their highly integrated role of providing smart marketing communications solutions.
Weber, who has built his career on digital content strategy, brings a thoughtful and results-driven approach to projects, processes and tools selection. Responsible for ensuring the agency is leading the way in digital platform solutions from marketing automation to user testing to CRM, Weber also will guide the department’s success through team recruiting and talent development. Additionally, Weber will serve in a strategic role for client programs, leading internal project direction and the development of strategy through design, development, launch and ongoing optimization.
Joining Wray Ward in 2016 as a content strategist, Weber quickly became an integral part of the agency’s approach to delivering smart digital solutions, spearheading content discovery efforts and managing the strategic process that defines digital goals and target audiences, content assets and gaps, and platform requirements.
“Since he walked through the doors of Wray Ward, Lucas has embodied Wray Ward’s ‘We, not me’ mentality and used innovative approaches to solve complex challenges,” said John Roberts, executive creative director for Wray Ward. “He has been an integral part of our digital team for several years, and we’re excited about the experience and strategic thinking he’ll apply to making sure our digital team and platforms offer smart, creative solutions for our clients’ programs.”
Weber, who graduated from Clemson University, earned his juris doctorate from Pace University School of Law and began his career in environmental law. In 2009, he married his analytical skills with creative thinking, transitioning his professional path into strategic content marketing. He served in roles as social media consultant with the National MS Society before joining digital marketing agency The Idea People as director of content and social marketing then vice president of agency services.
Weber has also held account management and content strategist positions at local agency Union, and his nearly 10 years of agency experience provide him a wholistic view of marketing communications programs that aligns perfectly with Way Ward’s full-service offering.
“Wray Ward continues to invest in our ability to provide clients with innovative digital solutions, which has allowed us to build an incredibly talented team,” Weber said. “I’m very excited about this new role as we continue to utilize our talents in creating the most effective and engaging work possible.”
