Marketing communications agency Wray Ward has grown its video content development team, hiring Devon Chandler as video production manager and Laura Dixon as video content developer and promoting Aaron Putnam to video content producer.
“Audiences today consume information and stories across diverse mediums,” said Jennifer Appleby, president and chief creative officer of Wray Ward. “Video is enjoying exponential growth as a powerful content marketing tool; it’s an exciting trend, and these new positions will help us better serve and build the brands we support.”
Chandler brings to her position 10 years of experience in film, production and project management. She previously served as a consultant for Pactera, where she worked on projects for Lowe’s Home Improvement and Bank of America. Her experience also includes roles with Indievision Creative in Charlotte, Broken Lizard Films in Los Angeles and work on several feature films and television shows for the Discovery Channel and History Channel.
Chandler received her bachelor of arts in communication – media studies and a minor in theater and film studies from the College of Charleston.
Dixon comes to Wray Ward from Broadcast Media Group, Inc., in Starkville, Mississippi, where she served as creative director and worked with clients including World’s Finest Chocolate, Mossy Oak, American Eurocopter and outdoor television shows for the Pursuit Channel. She has been recognized with five Telly Awards and multiple ADDY awards.
Dixon earned a bachelor of arts in communication from Mississippi State University, where she served as president of the Student Broadcasting Association.
In his new role as video content producer, Putnam will lead collaboration between the video content team and other Wray Ward creative disciplines to ensure the overall success of all video projects, from pre-production to finishing. He joined Wray Ward as a video content developer in 2012 and has shot and edited videos in a range of styles for a variety of end uses, from B2B content videos to broadcast TV spots.
Prior to joining Wray Ward, Putnam worked for the local ABC affiliate, WSOC-TV in Charlotte, where he was a producer and writer. His cable television network experience includes various roles as producer, writer, editor, designer and videographer on programs for ESPN, The Discovery Channel, The History Channel and TLC. Prior to relocating to Charlotte, Putnam worked as an associate producer for Warner Bros. in Los Angeles and helped launch The Bonnie Hunt Show. In 2012, he was nominated for a Regional EMMY® Award for his work on WSOC-TV's News Daybreak marketing campaign.
