Agency News

Marketing communications agency Wray Ward has hired Jason Gammon as senior designer and Katie Davis as designer. Both are part of the agency’s creative group.

“Jason and Katie have the ability to develop innovative concepts for brands and implement those big ideas into visual solutions,” said John Roberts, vice president and executive creative director for Wray Ward. “Their energy and creative talents will be valuable assets to our agency and the clients we serve.”

Gammon brings 14 years of experience to his role. As an art director, designer and illustrator with Charlotte agency Little Red Bird, Gammon redesigned the Boy Scouts Handbook, revitalized the Kidgets brand and produced creative work that gave Voodoo Ride its desired competitive edge.

While working with Enventys Creative, Gammon collaborated on more than 20 brands and product lines as an art director, designer and illustrator. His team successfully launched products to major retailers such as Bed Bath and Beyond, Wal-Mart, MaggieMoos and The Home Depot. Gammon’s work for Enventys was featured on the PBS TV program “Everyday Edisons,” a show that provides an insider’s perspective on product development.

A graduate of Winthrop University, Gammon earned a bachelor of fine arts in graphic design.

Davis, a recent University of Alabama graduate, honed her skills at BooneOakley in Charlotte. As a creative, Davis prepared new business presentations and developed digital and traditional advertising for clients including Bojangles’, Cheerwine and The Avett Brothers.

Prior to graduating, Davis excelled as an advertising and graphic design student leader. As assistant creative director of the University of Alabama’s 2014 National Students Advertising Competition AdTeam, she helped prepare and create an extensive, award-winning Mary Kay cosmetics advertising campaign. Additionally, Davis was a recipient of the Jan Gardner Memorial Scholarship awarded to outstanding advertising students in the American Advertising Federation.
