Bringing to life its mission to develop lasting communities, Crescent Communities has achieved LEED Silver certification for its renovated corporate headquarters in Charlotte.
“Our new space reflects our commitment to innovation and place making, and inherent in that practice is environmental responsibility,” said Crescent CEO Todd Mansfield, who accepted the plaque from the USGBC in a presentation ceremony at Crescent’s Charlotte office on March 18. “It’s a mission we infuse in each residential, multifamily and commercial property we develop, and the renovation of our own headquarters is no exception.”
Crescent’s renovated space in Charlotte achieved LEED Silver certification for design that incorporates sustainable initiatives such as water efficiency, energy savings, and use of recycled content and materials. It also achieved high marks for its indoor environmental quality, including the company’s focus on daylight and views – both of which are office design elements that achieve environmental goals and contribute to Crescent’s workplace culture.
“With natural light, floor-to-ceiling windows, and creative work spaces like our Innovation Lab, our office design encourages collaboration among our team and breeds creativity,” said Jenny Vallimont, Crescent’s director of sustainability and innovation. “Achieving LEED Silver certification for our corporate space is a testament to our heritage of excellence and an example of our approach to thoughtful building. We are committed to creating innovative communities that are sustainable, foster engagement and make people’s lives better.”
