What do you get when you combine uncluttered forms and metal accents with soft curves and warm finishes? American Drew’s new Motif collection embraces a soft-modern aesthetic to create spaces that are elegant, current and livable.
“Over the past several years, we’ve seen homeowners and interior designers start to incorporate a more modern look into their furniture choices, moving toward cleaner lines and simpler forms,” said Jack Richardson, senior vice president of sales for American Drew. “Our take on the soft-modern aesthetic combines modern elements, like geometric forms and metal hardware, with softer features, like curved lines and warm wood finishes, to create inviting spaces.”
The Motif collection utilizes mixed media, distinctive shapes and veneer patterns to achieve a soft-contemporary style. An arched panel bed and a round dining table exemplify this look; exotic Mozambique and flat-cut walnut veneers are complemented by stainless steel accents. The dining table features a dramatic stainless steel base of interlocking ovals that play off the tabletop’s warm, chocolate brown finish. On the panel bed, a metal frame accentuates the wooden headboard’s soft curve and decorative sunburst pattern. Each piece straddles the line between modern and traditional, making this collection desirable to today’s style and quality-conscious consumers.
“Interior design trends are evolving more quickly than ever, yet purchasing new furniture is still a big decision and happens less frequently. That’s why we design our collections with quality and timelessness in mind,” said Richardson. “With the Motif collection, we wanted to incorporate high style that is relevant to today’s consumer without compromising quality, function or livability.”
Function is often synonymous with storage, a top priority for many homeowners, and is generously incorporated into the Motif collection. A large storage sideboard features pull-out trays in the drawers, silverware storage and ample shelving. The panel beds feature storage footboards, and the bow front dressers add depth to the drawers without overwhelming the space.
“Because each piece of the collection is so unique, you could fill your whole home with it or incorporate your favorites, piece-by-piece, to create an eclectic look,” Richardson said. “The dining room table, for instance, would look great in either a modern or more traditional setting.
“That’s the beauty of the Motif collection—the soft-modern aesthetic appeals to a wide range of styles, and because it is quality-made, it will look beautiful for years to come.”
